Students, visitors, and staff must display a valid Parking Permit to park on an Ohlone College campus.

Daily Parking Permits for Students, Visitors, and Staff

A valid Daily Parking Permit allows a student, a visitor, or staff member to park in one parking space, except restricted spaces.

A Daily Parking Permit must be purchased by:

A Daily Parking Permit:

  • is valid on the day purchased for parking at both the Fremont and Newark Center campuses
  • must be placed face-up on the dashboard for traffic enforcement personnel viewing

It is a violation of the Student Honor Code and a crime to give a Daily Parking Permit to another student.

Cost of Daily Parking Permits

The cost of a Daily Parking Permit is $2 and may be purchased (non-refundable) at a Daily Parking Permit vending machine in the Ohlone College parking lots. The permit vending machines do not give change for over $2.

On the Fremont campus, the Daily Parking Permit vending machines in Parking Lots C, D, H, K, and P accept cash (nickels, dimes, quarters, and $1 bills) or credit cards (Visa and Mastercard), but not ATM cards.

On the Newark campus, the Daily Parking Permit vending machines in Parking Lots B, C and D accept only quarters and $1 bills. No nickels, dimes, or credit or ATM cards.

Student Parking at Fremont Campus

With a valid Daily Parking Permit, a student or visitor may park in one parking space in:

  • lower-level Parking Lots D, E G, H, K
  • spaces marked for motorcycles in upper-level Staff Parking Lot W

except those spaces designated as Administration or Police/Emergency Vehicle.

Students, visitors, and staff must purchase a Daily Parking Permit to park in:

  • upper-level Parking Lot P (Disabled Parking only)

Staff Parking Lot W Motorcycle Parking Area

The motorcycle parking area in upper-level Staff Parking Lot W is open to student, staff, and visitor motorcycles with a valid Parking Permit.

Student Parking at Newark Campus

There are no designated Student Parking lots or spaces at the Newark Center.

With a valid Daily Parking Permit, a student or visitor may park in one parking space in:

  • Parking Lots B, C, or D

except those spaces designated as Administration or Police/Emergency Vehicle.

Parking Rules Summary

  • There is no free parking at any of the Ohlone Community College District campuses, except as noted in Parking Hours.
  • There is no grace period during the first few weeks of each semester. Parking rules are enforced from the first day of each semester through the last.
  • Parking is permitted only in designed areas and parking stalls.
  • Vehicles that are illegally parked and/or parked without a valid parking permit may be cited or towed.
  • All parking rules are enforced during instructional periods and on weekends when special events or classes are being held.

Under state law (Education Code 72247) all parking on a community college campus is subject to payment of a specified fee. It is a privilege extended by the Board of Trustees to the faculty, staff, students, and visitors.

Parking Violations

A parking citation will be issued to violators of Ohlone College parking regulations.
