SoCal college VP accepts top position at Ohlone - Inside Bay Area, May 2, 2008 - "Last September, Ohlone Community College administrators worried the search for a new president would not have the full attention from its Board of Trustees. But within seven months, Ohlone's Board of Trustees unanimously voted to approve offering a contract to Gari Browning, who accepted the proposal on April 23."

- Ohlone enjoying magical season: Renegades head into state playoffs after going 24-0 in conference - Inside Bay Area, May 2, 2008 - "Of the Ohlone College softball team's 10 Coast Conference North titles, none was as special as the one earned this year. The Renegades' sixth conference title in a row came in a season in which coach Donna Runyon recorded her 700th career victory at Ohlone. Moreover, the Renegades posted the best conference record in school history — 24-0 — also going 38-7 overall."
