Phlebotomy Regulations Deadline Extended
Senate Bill 169 was signed into law by Governor Schwarzenegger on March 29, 2006. This urgency legislation extends the deadline for experienced phlebotomists become certified to January 1, 2007. Experienced phlebotomists are those who have phlebotomy experience on or before April 9, 2003. Prior to this legislation, all phlebotomists had to be certified by April 9, 2006.
The Allied Health Department offers courses that support other career programs in health. The most frequent offerings are: medical terminology, laboratory and diagnostic test, acupressure, pharmacology, and EKG interpretation.
