• High School Site Facilitator(s):
  • Each participating High School has one or two Site Facilitators – one of whom is a faculty member.
  • Role:
    1. Establishing Success Team members at high school (identification, recruitment)
    2. Coordinating Success Team meetings
    3. Liaison between high school and LAB Project Coordinator and PI
    4. Creating awareness of LAB Project mission and goals—among high school faculty, staff, and parents
    5. Coordinating activities and/or events of LAB “Bioscience Scholars” Learning Community (i.e., field trips, tours, assemblies, workshops, social activities, etc.)
    6. Coordinating tutoring at the high school (i.e., Ohlone tutors, HS tutors)
    7. Helping to establish parental contact and support
    8. Coordinating selection of LAB Learning Community cohorts (“Bioscience Scholars”)
    9. Coordinating lab equipment and supplies needs/requirements at high school
• High School Success Teams:
  • Composed of High School administration, counselors, faculty, HS Site Facilitator(s), Ohlone LAB Project Coordinator, Ohlone Biotech Faculty (Co-PI), and others.
  • Role:
    1. Work with site facilitator in accomplishing all of the duties of the facilitator
    2. Support LAB Project goals and objectives
    3. Work with LAB Coordinator, Co-PIs, and HS Site Facilitator in designing the curriculum for the Bioscience Scholars Learning Community.
