Ohlone College has been serving the Tri-City Area for 40 years. Fremont, Newark, and Union City have been growing over the years and today there are more students going to Ohlone College than ever before. Although more students are going to college, Latino students still only make up 12% of the total college student population. Ohlone College is working to sign up more students to go to college.

Ohlone College is planning its annual RAZA DAY! event for high school students and their parents. “Raza Day” means a day for “The People, The Community” to learn how to go to college and how to pay for it.

Our theme this year is RAZA UNITED IN LEARNING | ADELANTE RAZA. The purpose of this theme is for the community to come together and plan for the future, especially for the future of our children. RAZA UNITED IN LEARNING | ADELANTE RAZA intends to sign-up students to go to Ohlone College, with an eye towards signing up more Latino students.

RAZA UNITED IN LEARNING | ADELANTE RAZA is open to all 11th and 12th graders and we would like to especially invite 11th and 12th grade Latino students and parents because Ohlone College is committed to recruiting and enrolling more Latino students.

RAZA UNITED IN LEARNING | ADELANTE RAZA will provide students and parents with the following information and resources:

  • Admissions
  • Financial aid
  • Academic programs for students

The RAZA DAY 2007 committee is making transportation arrangements so students and their parents can be picked up and dropped off at Newark Memorial High School, Irvington High School, and Kennedy High School. Mark your calendars and plan to come to RAZA UNITED IN LEARNING | ADELANTE RAZA!
