Work for International Students
International students are only allowed to work on the Ohlone College campus, and only up to 20 hours per week (40 during vacation breaks.) Off-campus work is strictly prohibited by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) regulations, unless written approval to do this work is obtained from the International Programs and Services office and/or USCIS.
Housing for International Students
Ohlone College does not have dormitories. All students live off campus. You will need to arrive early in the Fremont area to locate housing. Many students looking for roommates post notes on the bulletin boards. You may want to look at the Fremont "Argus" newspaper classified ads. Many people rent rooms to students. Because apartments are expensive in Fremont, students often find four (4) other students to be roommates. This helps reduce your rental costs. Others live in other cities close to Fremont and commute to school. It is important that you think about what is the best kind of housing situation for you and begin to make plans.
Use Ohlone College's Housing Guide and the International Programs and Services Housing Information to assist you with finding housing near the campus.
Fees for International Students
Information about fees is available on the International Programs and Services website and Admissions and Records website, including parking permits and a Health Services Fee.
To estimate your book costs, visit the Ohlone College Bookstore website.
Any and all fees are subject to review and change at any time without notice by the administration of the Ohlone Community College District for reasons, at the discretion of the District and the State of California.
