Child Development Grant - Early Childhood Studies
If you are pursuing a career to teach or supervise in a childcare center, you may be eligible for a
$1,000.00 Grant
from the California Student Aid Commission
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Child Development Permit
- Be a U.S. citizen or an eligible noncitizen
- Be a California resident
- Submit a completed 2005-06 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the Federal Processor. (Students can fill out and submit a FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.)
If you are selected to receive the grant you must:
- Maintain at least ½ time enrollment leading to a Child Development Permit
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress
- Commit to one year of full-time employment in a licensed Children's Center for year of benefits.
How Do You Apply?
- Complete a 2005-06 Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application. The Financial Aid office has this form.
- Request your current calculated GPA from Admissions and Records

- Deadline for application submission is Monday, May 23, 2005
