Child Development Grant in Early Childhood Studies
If you are pursuing a career to teach or supervise in a childcare center, you may be eligible for a
$1,000.00 Grant
from the California Student Aid Commission
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Child Development Permit
- Be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen
- Be a California resident
- Submit a completed 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). (Students can fill out and submit the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.)
If you are selected to receive the grant, you must:
- Maintain at least ½ time enrollment (6 units at Ohlone College) leading to a Child Development Permit
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress
- Commit to one year of full-time employment in a licensed Children's Care Center for each year of benefits.
How Do You Apply?
- Complete the 2009-2010 Child Development Grant Program Application (PDF)
- Complete a 2009-2010 Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application
- Request your current calculated GPA from Admissions & Records
- Deadline for application submission is Thursday, July 15 to Susan Elbe in the Financial Aid Office
