English 163 Techniques of Reading - English Learning Center
The English Learning Center component of your English 163 course requires that you complete three sets of assignments:
- Library Periodicals Assignment
- PQ3R Study Method Practice Assignment
- Reading a Book for Enjoyment Assignment
Your instructor will give you a white student guidelines form with a list of all the English Learning Center assignments and their deadline printed on the back. You are to record your name, the class section, and the due dates on the white sheet. A blue copy of the assignment sheet will be kept in the English Learning Center and will be the official record of all English Learning Center work you have completed for the course. Make sure your full name and two-digit course section number are printed on the blue sheet.
You may choose to complete these assignments in one of three ways.
- You can download the assignment sheets, complete the assignments on paper, and submit them to the English Learning Center staff.
- You can complete all the assignments online and transmit them to the English Learning Center Manager. The ELC is not responsible if your paper is lost in the online submission process.
- Do a combination of #1 and #2, submitting some work by paper and some work by telecommunication.
You are welcome to use the computers and printers in the English Learning Center to complete your assignments. You will have to purchase a card to use the printers in the English Learning Center and then pay 10 cents (10¢) a page for black and white printing and 50 cents (50¢) a page for color printing.
