How To Write A Summary

You must use the article “Can People be Judged by their Appearance?” by Eric Berne. This lesson will help you learn how to write a longer summary of an article in a periodical.

  1. Starting with paragraph number 10 write a complete sentence summarizing each paragraph.
  2. Write a thesis statement in your own words which summarizes paragraph 10-15.
  3. Combine your thesis and all of your one sentence summaries to create a summary paragraph. Use transitional words or combine sentences to create a smooth logical flow of ideas.
