Blackcurrant Sage, “Hot Lips” variety (Salvia microphylla)

  • Perennial shrub with small leaves and, in this variety, flowers with white bases and bright red tops
  • Native to southeast Arizona and the mountains of southern, eastern, and western Mexico
  • Latin name “microphylla” means “small-leaves.” Drought-tolerant due to its native range
