Ohlone College is proud to announce that we are participating in the PGA of America’s Golf: Business for Life program. We are in the third year of the PGA Grant offering an instruction program with PGA Golf Professionals. As you preview the various course offerings you will find that we offer an extensive instruction program to help you with all facets of the game of golf.
Continuing the program begun in the Summer Session of 2008 the Ohlone College Golf Program will utilize a Golf Academy of Learning by giving the students a complete program of Golf Instruction. Three classes will be co-requisites. The three classes will be Small Group Instruction, Golf One on One and On Course Experience.
-
Small Group Instruction: Students will be placed into small groups of 6 to 8 based on their skill level. Each group will meet with the instructor for 30 minutes on a rotation basis. While one group is with the instructor the other two groups will be working on the practice green with putting or chipping or on the range incorporating swing drills to develop consistency in their golf swing.
-
Golf One on One: Once a week one of the 3 groups will meet with the instructor for a more personal instruction period that will include video analysis. Personalized work sheets will be distributed to the students to assist in improving their golf skills.
-
On Course Experience: Each week 12 students will rotate for an on course instruction and evaluation session with the instructor. Course management and strategy will be the focus as well as an evaluation of golf skills that will be discussed to include ways on how to improve their game during the One on One session.
