The Radio Broadcasting Program at Ohlone College in Fremont, California is a career-oriented, operations intensive curriculum featuring the latest technology. Lecture and lab situations combine to provide students with the background and skills required to meet the needs of the radio communications industry.
Students are exposed to to both analog and digital studio systems, including digital multitrack production techniques.
The curriculum is presented by industry professionals and is designed to focus on the business of radio broadcasting. The working lab of the program is 89.3 KOHL, a full time FM broadcast facility. The station's operational platform is a comprehensive broadcast business and equipment package that parallels current industry standards.

The KOHL Radio studios are located in the Gary Soren Smith Center for the Fine and Performing Arts on the Ohlone College Campus, with transmitter atop Mission Ridge. The station's format is high energy contemporary hit radio which challenges students to refine commercial broadcast techniques in a professional environment.
Courses can be found under "Broadcasting (BRDC)" in Ohlone College's Catalog and online Class Schedule. Ohlone offers an Associate in Arts degree in Broadcasting. Also available are Certificates in Radio Broadcasting Studio Operations, Air Talent, Program Management, and Digital Production.

Textbooks, Online Access Codes, Other Supplies and Resources
Most Ohlone College classes require the purchase of a textbook, and some classes require the purchase of online access codes (also known as keys) or other supplies. Most of these purchases are available at the Ohlone College Bookstore. The exact textbook and other specific costs are now available for each section on WebAdvisor (select "Book Info").
Students may go to the Ohlone College Bookstore website to find the textbook(s), access codes (keys), or supplies for their class(es). Students may be required to pay additional fees for access to online resources that are not available through the Ohlone College Bookstore. Additional supplies may be required and will be listed on the course syllabus on the first day of classes. Please check with your instructor.
