Percussion of India - Music Department
Learn traditional approaches to compositions and improvisation, and how to apply them to other rhythm and melody instruments and styles of music. Along with hand drumming, students will learn an exciting form of vocal percussion (Indian "beatboxing").
Students will enhance their sense of rhythm, learn new approaches to rhythmic theory and notation, learn ideas for composing and improvising in different styles and genres, and develop performance and creative skills to contribute to many vibrant music scenes in the Bay Area.
Ensemble open to students of all skill levels.
