Sandy Tsau Chen, Adjunct Faculty in the Music Department

Sandy Chen joined Ohlone College in 2010 and is an adjunct instructor in piano.

Ms. Chen received a B.M. and M.A. in Piano Performance from San José State University under the tutelage of Dr. Gwendolyn Mok, where she graduated with summa cum laude honors. Between 2008-2010 Ms. Chen served as the assistant instructor for Piano Pedagogy, Keyboard Proficiency, and Introduction to Music at San José State University.

Ms. Chen has had a passion for the fine arts her entire life. She also received a B.A. in Visual Arts from UC San Diego, where she received the UC San Diego Provost's Honors and the Earl Warren College Honors. Prior to pursuing her Master's Degree in music, Ms. Chen worked at a high-tech company as a web/graphics designer and marketing communications manager.

Besides enjoying her work teaching Ohlone students, she is currently Co-Chair of the Celia Mendez Young Pianist's Beethoven Competition, a state-wide competition sponsored by the American Beethoven Society and the Ira F. Brilliant Center for Beethoven Studies.
