Alumni Profile of 1998 Ohlone Graduate Gina Gholston, RN, Ohlone College Adjunct Clinical Faculty Instructor
Gina graduated from Ohlone College in December 1988. She has been working at Washington Hospital since graduation. Her present assignment is on 6 West, which is a Neuro/Surgical unit.
Besides being a nurse, Gina loves to spend time with her husband and children. Her family enjoys camping, water-skiing, and horseback riding as well as bicycling.
When asked why she likes nursing, Gina states: “I enjoy the art of nursing. Caring for people who need you and knowing you are making a difference in their recovery process is a very rewarding and satisfying experience”
Gina has been an adjunct faculty for N 107 (Cardiac, Respiratory, Renal and Neuro) since 2005. When asked why she loves to teach, Gina says “I love teaching because I am given the opportunity to share my knowledge and experiences of nursing with my students. My goal is to prepare them for a smoother and more positive transition into their new career”.
