About the ACCUPLACER Tests

See the Reading and Math Eligibility Requirements before taking the ACCUPLACER Test.

All students must have an Ohlone College Student ID Number before taking the ACCUPLACER Test. The only way to obtain an Ohlone Student ID Number is to apply to Ohlone College. Applying to Ohlone College and obtaining a Student ID Number does not obligate a student to enroll in a course here; however, this is the only way to obtain an Ohlone Student ID Number.

Reading ACCUPLACER Test

If you have completed ENGL-163 or ENGL-167 with a grade of "C" or better, you do not need to take the Reading ACCUPLACER Test.

The ACCUPLACER Reading Assessment Test evaluates English Reading competency. Passing the English/Reading ACCUPLACER Test "clears" the Reading eligibility requirement (ENGL-163 or ENGL-167) for admission. Note, however, that passing the English ACCUPLACER Test does not clear the ENGL-101A or equivalent eligibility requirement.

Math ACCUPLACER Test

If you have completed MATH-153 or MATH-155 (Intermediate Algebra) or any higher level college math course with a grade of "C" or better, you do not need to take the Math ACCUPLACER Test.

Passing the ACCUPLACER Math Assessment Test "clears" the Math eligibility requirement (MATH-153 or MATH-155 or equivalent) for admission. If students have completed a college course in Intermediate Algebra or higher with a grade of "C" or higher, they do not need to take the Math ACCUPLACER Test.
