Validation of R.N. Diploma Education
Registered nurses who wish to qualify for an advanced degree in nursing may have their hospital diploma education validated for currency at Ohlone College. This validation process consists of the following:
- Complete Ohlone College “Application for Admission,” and submit completed form to the Admissions Office, Building 7, if you are a new or returning student.
- Complete 6 semester units at Ohlone College in courses of own choice.
- Successfully pass, with a standard score of 45 or above, the following Excelsior (formerly Regents) College Proficiency Exams: Maternal and Child Nursing, Associate Degree; Occupational Strategy, Nursing; Nursing Concepts 1-7. (College transcript will indicate credit by exam. No letter grades will be awarded but unit valuable is transferable.)
