Eligibility Requirements Checklist for the Registered Nursing Program

The Application Period for the Registered Nursing Program is January 15 through March 1, 2015 for Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 admissions. See the Annual Academic Application Cycle.

The following must be completed before applying to the Registered Nursing Program:

  • Completion of ENGL-101A or equivalent with a grade of "C" or better

  • Reading Clearance: Clearing ENGL-163 or ENGL-167 through the ACCUPLACER Reading Assessment Test, or completion of ENGL-163 or ENGL-167 with a grade of "C" or better

  • Completion of MATH-153 or MATH-155 (Intermediate Algebra) or any higher level college math course with a grade of "C" or better, or math clearance through the ACCUPLACER Math Assessment Test

  • Completion of BIOL-103A (Anatomy) or equivalent with a grade of "C" or better; see Equivalent Nursing Support Courses

  • Completion of BIOL-103B (Physiology) or equivalent with a grade of "C" or better; see Equivalent Nursing Support Courses

  • Completion of BIOL-106 (Microbiology) or equivalent with a grade of "C" or better; see Equivalent Nursing Support Courses

  • Completion of CFS-109 (Nutrition) or equivalent with a grade of "C" or better; see Equivalent Nursing Support Courses

  • Completion of PSY-108 (Developmental Psychology) or equivalent with a grade of "C" or better; see Equivalent Nursing Support Courses

  • Completion of SPCH-101 or SPCH-103 (Public Speaking or Interpersonal Communication) or equivalent with a grade of "C" or better

  • Cumulative GPA OF 2.7 or higher from the most recent 60 units completed

  • TEAS V score of 62% or higher after no more than 2 attempts
