Eligibility Requirements Checklist for the Registered Nursing Program
The Application Deadline for the Registered Nursing Program is April 1-15, 2012 for Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 admissions. See the Annual Academic Application Cycle.
New Eligibility Requirements starting with Admissions for Fall 2012 and Spring 2013
For admissions beginning Fall 2012 and Spring 2013, eligibility requirements will also include completion of the following support courses:
- CFS-109 (Nutrition)
- PSY-108 (Developmental Psychology)
- SPCH-101 (Public Speaking) or SPCH-103 (Interpersonal Communication)
There will be a one-time grace period for the Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 application period (April 1-15, 2012) where in-progress support courses will be accepted as long as they are posted to the official sealed transcript or are listed on an additional page added to the transcript showing in progress course work that is officially verified by the admissions and records department of the college where the the course(s) are being taken. All in progress coursework taken during this one-time-only grace period must be completed by the end of the Spring 2012 semester.
During the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 application period (April 1-15, 2013), in-progress course work will no longer be accepted. Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, English, Intermediate Algebra or higher, Nutrition, Developmental Psychology, and Speech must be completed at the time of application in order to be eligible for the Registered Nursing Program.
The following must be completed before applying to the Registered Nursing Program:

Completion of ENGL-101A or equivalent with a grade of "C" or better

Reading Clearance: Clearing ENGL-163 or ENGL-167 through the ACCUPLACER Reading Assessment Test, or completion of ENGL-163 or ENGL-167 or equivalent with a grade of "C" or better; see Equivalent Reading Courses

Completion of MATH-153 or MATH-155 (Intermediate Algebra) or any higher level college math course with a grade of "C" or better, or math clearance through the ACCUPLACER Math Assessment Test

Completion of BIOL-103A (Anatomy) or equivalent with a grade of "C" or better; see Equivalent Nursing Support Courses

Completion of BIOL-103B (Physiology) or equivalent with a grade of "C" or better; see Equivalent Nursing Support Courses

Completion of BIOL-106 (Microbiology) or equivalent with a grade of "C" or better; see Equivalent Nursing Support Courses

Cumulative GPA OF 2.7 or higher from the most recent 60 units completed
