Eligibility and Information Checklist for the Registered Nursing Program

Completion of ENGL-101A or equivalent

READING CLEARANCE: Clearing ENGL-163 through the Ohlone College English placement exam or completion of ENGL-163 or substitution reading course from an approved list

COMPLETION OF MATH-152 or 153 or 155 (Intermediate Algebra), or any higher-level college Math course or Math clearance on the Ohlone College Math placement exam.

All nursing students who plan to apply during the October 1-15, 2008 application period for Spring 2009 admission must have completed Intermediate Algebra, or Ohlone College Math 155, or any college math course higher than Intermediate Algebra to meet the new California Community College Math graduation requirement.

COMPLETION OF BIO-103A OR EQUIVALENT (Anatomy with lab)

COMPLETION OF BIO-103B OR EQUIVALENT (Physiology with lab)

COMPLETION OF BIO-106 OR EQUIVALENT (Microbiology with lab)

CUMULATIVE GPA OF 2.7 OR HIGHER from the most recent 60 units completed

Attendance at a MANDATORY NURSING ORIENTATION during the semester the student plans to apply or reapply

Completion of a MANDATORY NURSING EVALUATION or RE-EVALUATION. A nursing evaluation is only completed once a student has completed all other requirements listed above including attendance at a mandatory nursing orientation.
No course work can be in progress at the time of the application.
Support course of CFS-109 (Nutrition) and PSY-108 (Developmental Psychology) and SPCH-101 (Public Speaking) or SPCH-103 (Interpersonal Communication) must be completed before the start of the second semester once accepted into the Ohlone Nursing program.
