Did You Know…?
The term "community college" was first used by President Harry Truman in 1947 in a study he commissioned on higher education. The idea of community colleges appealed to the President, and his administration began to put in place mechanisms to foster the growth of such institutions around the country. The Political Science Department offers courses for transfer students, for students in two-year terminal programs and for community residents seeking self improvement and intellectual stimulation.
All courses offered in the Political Science area are transferable to the California State University System. Most are transferable to the University of California.
