Course Description

This course is 3 units overall, with 2.5 units being lecture and .5 units being lab. It is taught over a 17.5 week semester.

Course content includes: origins, insertions and functions of the muscular system; neural pathways; circulation patterns; joint function; and the biomechanics of muscle tissue, bone, and connective tissues. The course is designed to prepare the student for allied health professions where a solid understanding is required for success in subsequent courses. Examples of such professions include: PTA, athletic training, personal training, dance therapy, acupressure, and massage therapy.
