Tutor Training

The tutor training class is designed to teach you methods that make tutoring more effective. You will have the opportunity to work with other tutors and share your tutoring ideas and experiences. Completing the class and required tutoring hours will make you a candidate for the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) tutor certification which is accepted at various colleges. Tutor Classes & CRLA Level I & II Certificate

Register for:

  1. EDUC-191A Tutor Training Part I (0.5 unit)

  2. EDUC-191B Tutor Training Part II (0.5 unit)

Requirements for a CRLA certificate include:

  • CRLA I: Satisfactory complete EDUC 191A, concurrently employed as a tutor, 25 hours of documented tutoring, and a supervisor evaluation.
  • CRLA II: Satisfactory complete EDUC 191B, concurrently employed as a tutor, 25 hours of documented tutoring, and a supervisor evaluation.
  • Ohlone tutors are eligible to earn pay increases upon successful completion of the CRLA Certification requirements.
