Wednesday, November 13, 2007 - This past weekend our Forensics team (Speech and Debate) competed at both Delta College and at UOP.
At the Delta Invitational students earned the following awards:
- Novice Extemporaneous Speaking, 2nd place, Chen Lin
- Novice Duo: 2nd place David Hirakama and Lydia Bringhurst
- Open Prose Interpretation: 3rd place, Natale Seybold
- Open Extemporaneous: 3rd place, David Taube
- Open After Dinner Speaking: 2nd place, Sammy Obeid
- Open Impromptu: Finalist, Emily Burkett
At the UOP Paul Winters Invitational, with 42 colleges and universities competing, the following students earned awards:
- Open Prose: Finalist, Natale Seybold
- Open Extemp: Finalist, Emily Burkett
- Novice Extemp: Finalist, Chris Hall
- Octofinal Rounds of Parliamentary Debate: Chris Hall and Manika Casterline

Monday, October 15, 2007 - This last weekend, October 12-14, the Ohlone College Foresics Team represented Ohlone at the Santa Rosa Invitational Speech Tournament. We are pround to announce the following winners:

- 1st place, Sammy Obeid
- 3rd place, Emily Burkett

- 1st place, Emily Burkett
- 3rd place, David Taube

- Two teams:

In Open Parli speakers also receive speaking points and Emily was ranked 4th and David 7th.

Ohlone won 2nd place in Sweepstakes Standings for Community Colleges.
In Novice Parli students included in the top ten speakers were: David Hirayama 2nd and Natale Seybold, 10th.

Monday, September 24, 2007 - The Ohlone Forensics Team spent this last weekend competing at U.C. Berkeley - along with 22 other colleges and universities. Most of the teams were from four-year institutions which really intensified the competition. Our team earned the following awards:
- Emily Burkett Finalist in Open Extemporaneous Speaking
- Chen Lin Finalist in Novice Extemporaneous Speaking
- Natale Seybold Finalist in Open Dramatic Interpretation
- Chen Lin 1st in Novice Impromptu Speaking
- Chen Lin and Manika Casterline Finalists in Novice Parliamentary Debate
This was our first tournament and we are looking forward to a great year of competition!
