20th Annual Ohlone College High School Theatre Festival
The Ohlone College Theatre and Dance Department is proud to bring together Northern California’s finest high school students in grades 10-12 for two days of competition, inspiration, and instruction. This year our top college students and 200 judges from professional and educational theatre will work to evaluate, encourage and support the 800 high school students who will come to the Ohlone College campus.
- Festival Dates: March 21-22, 2014
- Festival Registration Deadline:
5:00pm on February 14, 2014
- Individual Student Ohlone College Registration begins January 13, 2014 for 10th-12th Grade High School Students
The Festival is designed to encourage young theatre artists in their craft, showcase their talents, and introduce them to new and exciting material through energetic competition, interaction with other students, observing their peers, and watching all the events.
Registration for High School Performers is as simple as…
Teachers: Download the 2014 Festival Regulations (PDF) document. Read it thoroughly.
Teachers: Download the 2014 Excel Worksheet Festival Registration Form (XLS) and save it using your high school name followed by "2014 Registration Form.xls" in the filename. This is a multipage document that has to be completed to register the entries in the competition. Make sure that you have reviewed this thoroughly before emailing to our email address: email@example.com. Make sure your entry is correct the first time. Do not send updates. This form must be emailed and only the "School Info Worksheet" should be printed and included with the Xerox Copies and registration fees. This is your school registration for the Festival.
Teachers: Download and print one copy of the 2014 Festival 10th-12th Grade Permission Form (DOC). This is the students Add Card for Ohlone College credit. Complete the bottom part with your school name and have your Principal and Counselor (or designee) sign it. Then, duplicate enough copies for your students.
When checking the forms prior to submission, make sure the form has the student's name printed on top. The middle section has the student's signature and the signature of their parent or guardian (yes, even the 18 year olds, unless they are emancipated minors which will require written documentation). The student should also have checked what grade they are in school. High School students are not continuing or returning students. They must go through this process every semester and every year that they are enrolled per the State Auditor.
Teachers: Download and print one copy of the 2014 Festival Photo Release (DOC). Complete it with your school information and then duplicate for all students and chaperones. All members of your delegation must have a signed Photo Release submitted with your hard copy of the "School Info Worksheet" page of the Excel Worksheet Festival Registration.
- Registration at Ohlone for students in 10th-12th grade opens January 13, 2014 and Festival registration closes February 14, 2014.
- Student registrations must be submitted online using the documents contained on this page. Students who are on a Visa will have additional requirements that have to be fulfilled to be registered for the festival. Allow time for this prior to the Festival Deadline Registration Date.
All High School Student Participants: You must Apply online (www.ohlone.edu/go/applyonline) at Ohlone College before you can register. Make sure each student prints a copy of their application confirmation. You will need that to complete your school registration. Note: If using the same computer to register students, make sure you log out completely and re-login after each student otherwise it may override the last info you inputted and leave only the last person registered.
The Festival has a dedicated staff in Admissions. Email questions, concerns, or problems to Michele Hartmangruber, Festival Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
