The Bay Area’s TV & Video Lab
The Ohlone College Broadcasting Department offers hands-on classes in film production, film directing, film editing, AVID editing, Final Cut Pro editing, shooting video for TV, film production, video production and TV news production. We are The Bay Area’s TV & Video Lab.
Ohlone College Broadcasting’s film and TV classes offer training that is essential to get the job you want in film, film editing, film production and TV production, including sitcoms, entertainment shows, documentary production or TV news.

Digital Video and Lighting (Train to shoot like a pro)
Learn how to shoot like the pros using professional, full-size Sony DV Cams. Get that gorgeous panoramic shot, frame your interview subject, how to light for effect. Taught by KTVU Cameraman William Moore. BRDC 136 Mon. & Wed. 11:30 am to 2 pm. Enroll now in Digital Video and Lighting.
Sports Broadcasting
Train to be a play-by-play announcer, or learn camera technique and Pre-production and production skills as part of the crew on Live Sports Highlights shows as well as live broadcasts of real sporting events. This class is taught by NBC News & Sports Producer Paul Hammons BRDC 144 Sports Broadcasting Friday noon to 4:25 pm + 2 ½ hrs wk. Enroll now in Sports Broadcasting.
Film and Video Production
This class in advanced filmmaking is for people serious about getting that first job in the film industry or working in video production. Emphasis on lighting technique, dolly shots and set preparation. Taught by filmmaker Lawrence Iriarte who has worked at WB, Pixar & ILM. BRDC 152 Sat. 9 am to 2:25 pm. Directing Live Television
Develop the skills to be a studio camera operator, teleprompter operator, learn switcher, run an audio board or train to be a floor director. Taught by ESPN, FOX director Mauricio Quijano BRDC 148 Mon. & Wed. 6:30p to 9:15 pm. Enroll now in Directing Live Television.
Live TV News Production
Be a reporter, anchor, do live shots, write & produce a live weekly newscast. Taught by KTVU’s Gary Kauf. BRDC 141 Mon & Wed 6:30 to 9:15 pm. Enroll now in Live TV News Production.
Shooting and Editing for the Web
Learn to shoot AND EDIT DIGITAL VIDEO FOR UTube, websites and DVD. Camcorder is not required. Taught by Kristin Becker & KTVU Cameraman William Moore. BRDC 110 Mon. & Wed. 2 pm to 4 pm. Enroll now in Shooting and Editing for the Web.
Video Editing: Final Cut Pro Advanced

Video Editing: Final Cut Pro for Beginners
