Speaker Biography: Kausik Rajgopal

Kausik Rajgopal.Kausik Rajgopal is a Partner in McKinsey & Company's San Francisco office.  He is a leader of McKinsey's North American Financial Services Practice.  He also leads the West Coast Payments and Organization practices and is active in the Public Sector practice.  Kausik joined McKinsey in 1997, and has served a range of clients, including retail and wholesale banks, brokerages, asset managers, software companies, private equity firms, hedge funds, foundations and governments on a range of strategy, organization and operation issues.  Kausik has worked with clients on change management issues including leadership team effectiveness, executive transitions, global restructurings and front-line performance transformations.  

His recent engagements include an assessment of the U.S. consumer credit landscape for a private equity firm, a performance improvement program for a large consumer finance organization, an assessment of competitive challenges and strategic options for a global payments network, an analysis of U.S. household deleveraging and implications for financial services, and strategy development for an online banking provider.

Kausik has authored articles on performance transformation in banking and asset management, and on emerging payments strategies.  He has spoken at industry and public forums on “The Future of Online Banking”, “The Psychology of Change”, “The Globalization of Supply Chains”, and “End of the Beginning: The Outlook for U.S. Housing”.

Kausik graduated from Stanford University with Distinction in Political Science and Honors in Industrial Engineering.  He obtained his MBA from the Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar.  He lives in San Francisco and enjoys poker, hiking, and cooking.

Speaker Biography: Mohammad H. Qayoumi, President, California State University, East Bay

Mohammad Qayoumi.Mohammad H. Qayoumi, current president of CSU East Bay, has over 30 years of experience in higher education and industry and has published multiple books and written several articles. He previously served at Cal State Northridge as VP for Administration and Finance and CFO. He worked for his native country of Afghanistan as the senior advisor to the Minister of Finance and as a member on the board of directors for the Central Bank of Afghanistan. Qayoumi is currently a member of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group and serves on several boards including the Bay Area Council, the East Bay Economic Development Alliance and the Contra Costa Business Council.
