Bridget Nolan is the former director of international programs at Global Strategies for HIV Prevention where she worked primarily in conflict and post-conflict settings and among refugee and other vulnerable populations. Her work has taken her to Nigeria, Ghana, Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Her primary focus has been working in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Projects in eastern Congo provided a variety of unique experiences to Nolan, including establishing pediatric HIV treatment programs with the Clinton Foundation, working with local grassroots organizations to develop HIV Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission programs in rebel held areas and handling the logistic for and execution of a number of trainings for healthcare workers in HIV prevention and care. Nolan is particularly passionate about issues related to the health and security of women in conflict settings like eastern Congo.
In the last year, Nolan returned from six months of studying French in Paris, France, and is now awaiting security clearance to begin working with the US Department of State’s Foreign Service.Skip plugin info.
