Steven Ramos is Male Athlete of the Month for January 2009

February 12, 2009 - California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) - Freshman outfielder Steven Ramos (Tracy) has exploded to start the season. He bats leadoff for the Renegade baseball team and has been putting up some very good numbers.

In seventeen at bats he is batting .529 with nine hits. Ramos has three doubles, one home run, eight stolen bases, and three runs batted in. He has an on-base-percentage of .556%, and he is slugging an astonishing .882%. Ramos has thrown out two runners at home plate from the outfield.

“Ramos works hard on the field, proving himself in the leadoff spot through the short season thus far. His routine in the classroom is a demonstration of his personality and abilities. After a great high school career at Tracy, Ramos was looking for an opportunity and he sought us out. After being actively recruited by other area teams, he chose the Renegades, and we are pleased to have him with us. His speed on the base paths is creating opportunities for our offense which is a big plus,” said Ohlone’s head baseball coach, Jordan Twohig.
