Big Inning Propels Renegades - Team News, 2012 Ohlone College Renegades Men's Baseball

Fremont, CA—The Renegades are off to a strong conference start with a 2-1 record after an offensive breakout at Mission College.
Dylan Morrow showed a strong outing with 6 IP, 5 Hits, 6 strikeouts and allowing no earned runs. The offense gave him a two run cushion in the 1st inning led by a Rich Bermudez single with Bermudez scoring on a triple by LJ Kalawaia who went 2-3 on the day with one RBI. Collin Crowl produced a sac fly to score Kalawaia giving Ohlone the 2-0 lead into the 3rd inning.
Mission tied the game making it 3-3 heading into the 6th inning when the Renegades broke out of an offensive slump putting up 8 runs in the inning. Chaidez led the rally with a single and advanced to second with a stolen base. Garrett Everhart reached first base safely on an error and stole second putting runners at second and third base with one out. Dante Broome singled to score Chaidez and Bermudez drew a walk to load the bases for Matt Owen who hit a double to the left center fence and collected 2 RBI. Kalawaia drew a walk and Brandon Jossey hit a sac fly RBI. Goodall was hit by a pitch to load the bases and Chaidez came up for a second time in the inning knocking in 2 RBI with a double. Quigley doubled for 2 RBI to end the inning with Ohlone leading 11-3.
The Renegades would hold off Mission after they came back and scored three runs in the 7th making the score 11-6. Alex Flores and Chris Harper closed the game out allowing one hit and no earned runs.
Ohlone will be back at home on Tuesday, March 13th for a 2pm game against Chabot College and Saturday, March 17th against Monterey College at 1pm.
