Mike Curran has left the West Hills College baseball program to take over as coach at Ohlone JC in Fremont.

Curran led the Falcons to a 29-43 record in two seasons.

Curran was hired at West Hills in summer 2011 -- following the death of former Falcons coach Paul "Archie" Hodsdon that spring -- after a one-year stint as coach at Cal Lutheran and one year as a Fresno State volunteer assistant.

Before that, his Washington teams went 109-25 from 2007-10 and won a section championship in 2009.

Curran said he'll be teaching full-time at Ohlone and takes over a Renegades program that went 16-20 overall last spring and 11-13 in the Coast Conference, finishing tied for fourth in the standings after winning the league title in 2012.
