Team News, 2009 Season - Ohlone College Renegades Men's Baseball
Ohlone Baseball Wins Coast Conference Championship!
Round 1 of Regional Playoffs May 8-9
Renegade Family and Friends: I wanted to take a few minutes this afternoon to thank everyone for their continued support of our baseball program. On Thursday, April 30, our boys completed off the regular season in dramatic fashion as they defeated Skyline College at home by the score of 4-1. There were over 300 fans in attendance to watch the Renegades on Thursday.
In the game, designated hitter Jeff Johnson hit his state leading 17th home run in the 7th inning to give the Renegades the lead in the game and it proved to be the game winner. Ohlone pitcher Ian Hoff earned the win on the mound. He now moves to (8-2) on the year.
With the win Ohlone Baseball brought the Coast Conference Championship back to Fremont for the first time since 1991. It was also a record breaking day, as the 2009 team earned its 35th win of the season which is the most ever in a single season, in the history of the program. Ohlone finishes the regular season 35-9-overall, and 20-5 in the Coast Conference Pacific Division. Ohlone is still currently ranked #4 in the Nation according to Perfect Game baseball.
The Renegades will host their 1st Regional Playoffs since 1991. The games will be played Friday and Saturday, May 8-9. Check back for game times!
Again, on behalf off my coaches and players, I want to say thank you for supporting us throughout the regular season, and look forward to seeing you all out at Ohlone College May 8-9.
