Sitting in second place in the Coast Conference Pacific, Ohlone College had a perfect week, going 3-0 and upsetting the conference-leading Canada College on Saturday, April 24, to pull within three games of Canada with three games left on the schedule. At week's end, the Renegades had won six straight games to improve to 17-5 in the conference, 25-8 overall.

Ohlone blasted Skyline, 12-6, ending any suspense early by putting up five runs in the first inning. Zach Johnson hit a three-run homer in the inning, and was followed shortly afterward by solo blasts from Tanner Laran and Kyle Holmstrom. Laran hit another dinger, a three-run shot, in the fourth. Right-handed pitcher Matt Fontaine pitched a solid six innings, giving up two runs and picking up the win.

The Renegades put up another 12-spot in their next game against Cabrillo, winning 12-3. Johnson had two homeruns, both two-run blasts in the third and fifth innings. Ryan Walterhouse homered in the seventh with a man on base.

Ohlone, ranked No. 7 in the state, picked up a game on top-ranked Canada College with a wild 17-10 road win in Redwood City on Saturday, April 24. Johnson and Cody Foster each homered for Ohlone, and staff ace Roberto Padilla won his 11th game, pitching into the eighth. Canada's six-run rally in the ninth made the score nearly respectable, if not close.
