Ohlone Baseball Fall Scrimmage Update
November 1, 2011, Tri-City Voice - Ohlone College traveled to Oakland and split a doubleheader with Laney College in fall baseball September 27. Ohlone lost the opener 5-1, but starting catcher, Ryan Beal did his part, reaching base three times. He was hit by a pitch and walked twice, and stranded on base each time. Defensively, Ryan threw out the only would-be base stealer at second by a comfortable margin. Ryan and Ohlone return to action on Tuesday, November 1, when Ohlone travels to Chabot College.
2011 Sophomore Class Pursue Higher Education/Baseball

Current and Former Renegades Selected in MLB Draft

Cody Demera and Christian Weeber Commit to University of Arkansas Pine Bluff

Matt Fontaine named Tri-City Voice Sports Male Athlete of the Month for June 2011
June 1, 2011, Tri-City Voice - Matt Fontaine, ace pitcher of the Ohlone College Renegades baseball team, has been named Tri-City Voice Sports Male Athlete of the Month for June. Fontaine was awarded the honor for his stellar performances through May, leading Ohlone to the California Community College Athletic Association baseball championship game, where they fell one game short of a title. Ohlone Baseball loses State Championship to Delta
May 23, 2011 - Second place is very impressive, to say the least. (State Tournament game recaps and statistics.)
I am so proud of our student athletes and the way they have conducted themselves over this past weekend. It has been an amazing ride for them and to see all the support from not only our Ohlone Family, but from every students immediate family, it was just wonderful.
As for me, I am not sad….I’m overwhelmed with pride and amazement as to what we have accomplished this season. Thank you all…and have a great summer!

Ohlone Baseball loses State Championship to Delta

May 24, 2011, Tri-City Voice - This time, the comeback kids were outdone by another group of comeback kids. And with that said, the ride that was the 2011 Ohlone baseball season has come to its conclusion. San Joaquin Delta sweeps Ohlone College to take state baseball title
May 22, 2011, Mercury News - The Ohlone College baseball team arrived at Gerry Collis Field on Sunday morning needing just one victory in two games vs. Stockton's San Joaquin Delta to claim its second straight California Community College Athletic Association state title. May 13, 2011 - Ohlone started the weekend facing San Mateo with both teams putting up impressive numbers, holding off the Bulldogs 16-15 in 11 innings. Joel Thys led the way for the Renegades going 5 for 6, HR, 2 RBI, 2 Runs. Matt Owen, Kainoa Crowell, Christian Weeber, Rich Bermudez and Cody Demera all had two hits apiece. May 9, 2011 - After a weekend of fending off a resilient Butte team, the Renegades are heading back to a Super-Regional for the third consecutive year. May 10, 2011, Tri-City Voice - "Lost for words." That would possibly be the best way to describe the 2011 State Regionals for Fremont's Ohlone College. This weekend should have been a change in the guard. Ohlone should've been just happy to barely win the Coast Pacific title despite needing help. But that's why they play the game. May 3, 2011, Tri-City Voice - Congratulations to Ohlone Renegades baseball star Ryan Tella for being named this month's Tri-City Voice Sports Male Athlete of the Month. Ohlone just wrapped up another regular season, at the time of this publishing, with a Coast Conference Pacific title. Tella was a big part of that. Renegades Will Host Regional Face Off Against Butte College May 6th-7th
April 28, 2011 - The Renegades streak their way to a conference championship winning the final six conference games of the regular season. Ohlone streaking as season nears end
April 26, 2011, Tri-City Voice - In last year's postseason, the Renegades had to comeback in crucial situations, most notably in the 2010 Super Regional against rival Chabot and against the College of San Mateo in the State final. So to see the defending State champs coming back from the near dead to just a game behind Coast Conference Pacific leading Canada in the standings should not be a surprise, but more so somewhat expected. April 18, 2011, Tri-City Voice - After losing back-to-back games on Tuesday and Thursday, April 12 and 14, the Ohlone baseball team stopped the losing trend against Canada College in Saturday’s, April 16, big 5-1 win over the Coast Conference Pacific leading Colts. Renegades edge Monterey in walk-off thriller
April 14, 2011, Ohlone College Monitor - Another home game for the Ohlone baseball team yielded another walk-off victory for the Renegades.They fell behind 2-0 to the visiting Monterey Peninsula Wolves, only to regain the lead and pull off some more ninth inning drama to squeak out a 6-5 victory. Renegades fight their way back on track
April 12, 2011, Tri-City Voice - As the weather finally found some sort of stability, the defending state champion Ohlone baseball team did the same. Despite the task not being that easy. A day after falling to Monterey Peninsula, the Renegades defeated De Anza 5-4 in a comeback thriller. After Ohlone took the opening 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first off of a Mark Mercer RBI single, the Dons responded in the fourth inning as they rocked Ohlone starter Cody Honea for four runs to go up 4-1. Renegades end win streak at five
April 5, 2011, Tri-City Voice - After the Renegades pushed their win streak to a season-high five games after an impressive 16-3 demolition of the Gavilan Rams, and a solid 8-0 performance at Skyline on Thursday, Ohlone took a step back, falling to Canada 7-3 on Saturday. March 29, 2011, Tri-City Voice - Rain didn't stop the defending State Champions from turning the season around after the Ohlone baseball team took commanding wins over the Rams of the City College of San Francisco and Hartnell on Tuesday, March 22, and Friday, March 25, respectively. March 15, 2011, Tri-City Voice - With what is virtually a new roster, including a new head coach, the defending State champion Ohlone baseball team hasn't necessarily had the easiest turnaround since winning the State title last May. But after winning back-to-back games against Canada and Hartnell on Thursday and Saturday respectively, the Renegades are hoping that it's, once again, a start in the right direction. September 17, 2010 - The 2010 Ohlone College Athletics Male Athlete of the Year is sophomore baseball player Roberto Padilla. This past season, Roberto helped lead the Renegades to a State Championship and the best baseball season in the school’s history. Ohlone Ranked 3rd Nationally; Twohig National Coach of the Year
August 3, 2010 - Ohlone Renegades baseball finished the 2010 season with a #3 ranking in Perfect Game USA’s Junior College Poll. The top two rankings went to the finalist in the NJCAA World Series. The Renegades former Head Coach, Jordon Twohig, was honored as the 2010 ABCA Diamond/National Coach of the Year.
Russell Renegades new head of state champions
July 23, 2010, Tri-City Voice - After leading the Ohlone College baseball team to its first State championship last season, and its first national ranking in team history back in 2009, Jordon Twohig has officially resigned as the head coach of Ohlone baseball and accepted a position as the assistant coach for the University of Washington.
Laran Signs with University of Arkansas at Monticello
July 18, 2010 - Ohlone Renegade sophomore outfielder Tanner Laran, signed with University of Arkansas at Monticello, a rising Division II program. Ohlone Announces Julian Russell as Interim Head Baseball Coach
July 13, 2010 Press Release - “Assistant Coach Julian Russell will be stepping in as the interim head coach of the State Championship-winning Renegades Baseball team,” Athletics Director Chris Warden announced Tuesday after the resignation of former head coach Jordan Twohig.
