Congratulations to Ohlone Renegades baseball star Ryan Tella for being named this month's Tri-City Voice Sports Male Athlete of the Month. Ohlone just wrapped up another regular season, at the time of this publishing, with a Coast Conference Pacific title. Tella was a big part of that.
From watching the Renegades win the 2010 CCCAA State title a year ago, to being the leading hitter on the three-time defending Coast Conference Pacific champs, and defending state champion Ohlone Renegades baseball team, the last few months for sophomore outfielder Ryan Tella have been fun to watch. And for him, fun to play.
Tella went from redshirt freshman to being ranked fifth in the state, first in Northern California, in batting average, hitting .425 with three home runs and 35 RBI’s and riding a seven-game hit streak entering post-season play, as he started in the Renegade outfield in all 36 games this season.
“He’s our spark,” said Ohlone head coach Julian Russell.
