Financial Aid / Tuition - Ohlone College Renegades Athletics

• For California residents, the enrollment fee is $26 per unit. Student-athletes must be registered in 12 units per semester to participate in basketball. Fees and Residency.

• For out-of-state residents, the enrollment fee is $173 per unit. Students that gain residency after their first year pay the in-state fee of $26 per unit their sophomore year. Fees and Residency.

• For foreign students, the enrollment fee is $183 per unit. Foreign students are not eligible for financial aid, but are allowed to work on campus with a student visa. International Programs and Services.

• In-State Residents may be eligible for a Board of Governor’s Tuition Waiver. This BOGW is a grant program that does not require repayment and is offered to assist low income participants who meet certain income standards. BOGW recipients do not pay for tuition!

• NCAA qualifiers need an average of 12 units per full time semester of transferable units at a 2.0 GPA (24 units per year) in order to transfer. Non qualifiers must graduate with 60 units, 48 of which must be transferable.

• The Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) provides book services for qualifying students and possible tuition waivers.

• Federal Pell Grants are awarded to students demonstrating financial need. Grants range from $200 to $4,200 per academic year. Financial Aid.

• Full Pell Grant qualifiers also qualify for the Work Study program which provides up to an additional $1,800 per academic year. Financial Aid.

• All students requesting a Pell Grant must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be notified of their award. This can be done online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. The Ohlone school code is 004481. Financial Aid.

• Basketball players from out of the area rent apartments in Fremont. A typical lease runs 12 months and must be co-signed by a parent or guardian. Currently there are 2 bedroom/2 bath units with washer/dryer available for $1,290.00 and or 2 bedroom/ 1 bath units with washer/dryer available for $1,190.

• Student loans are available as well. For first year students, the maximum loan amount is $2,625.00. For second year students the maximum loan amount is $3,500. Student loans do not have to be repaid until after graduation from college and the current national interest rate on a student loan is roughly 3.25%. Financial Aid.
