Thursday, March 8, 2007 — Daily News: Inside SOCAL.

Ade Dagunduro and Marcellus Robertson led a furious comeback as the Antelope Valley College men's basketball team rallied from a 15-point deficit in the final 11 minutes Thursday to defeat Ohlone 71-69 in the quarterfinals of the state championships in Fresno.

AVC (30-6), the No. 3 seed from Southern California, advances to face Ventura, Southern California's No. 1 seed, in Saturday's semifinals.

Ohlone, Northern California's No. 2 seed, finishes with a 28-4 record.

Ohlone had a 60-45 lead with 10:57 left, but Robertson scored 13 points and Dagunduro added eight as AVC ended the game on a 26-9 run. Robertson's layup with two minutes left tied the score 69-69, and another layup by Robertson with 36 seconds left provided the winning points.

Ohlone then missed three 3-point attempts in the final 21seconds.

Dagunduro finished with 22points, 11 rebounds, fiveassists and four steals. Robertson had 20 points, ninerebounds and four steals.

With the victory, the Marauders tied the school record for wins. The 1996-97 AVC squad that lost in the quarterfinals of the state tournament also won 30 games.

It is the second time the Marauders have made the final four in the last four years, and only the third time in school history.
