Fremont—Ohlone College built a double-digit first-half lead, saw it evaporate in the second half, then fought back to beat Chabot on Saturday, 76-66.

With 36 seconds left and Ohlone leading by six, Chabot's Jared Bell slammed the ball into the court to draw a technical foul. Moments later, Chabot coach Denny Aye picked up another technical for using profanity while protesting the first technical. Then Paki Brown joined the party with a technical of his own.

The result was six foul shots for Ohlone's Amarildo Matos. He hit five to ice the game for Ohlone.

The Renegades (19-10, 9-3) came in with the No.2 spot in the Coast Conference North standings already locked up and will now wait to see where they are seeded in the state playoffs.

If history serves as an indicator as to what that will mean for Ohlone come the playoffs, the Renegades can expect to host a home game when the play gets under way on either Friday or Saturday.

"I think odds are good we'll play Cabrillo," Ohlone coach John Peterson said. "We'll probably be the eight and nine seeds."

Last year, Ohlone advanced to the Elite Eight, but Peterson said the team will need to play much better defense, if it wants to replicate the success of last year's team.
