Announcements from Ohlone Men's Basketball Head Coach John Peterson, May 13, 2009:
- 5 Sign National Letters of Intent - Ohlone basketball coach John Peterson announced today that 5 players from the 2008-2009 Coast Conference Championship team have signed letters of intent and scholarship papers with 4-year schools.
- Sophomore Alpha N’diaye signed with CSU Sacramento (Division 1)
- Sophomore AJ Flournoy signed with NCAA Division 2 powerhouse Metropolitan State College of Denver
- Sophomore James Hancock signed with Point Loma Nazarene (NAIA Division 1)
- Sophomore Matt Wittbrodt signed with Northwood University in Michigan (NCAA D2), and
- Freshman guard Kevan West signed with NAIA D2 Concordia University in Portland
- 5 other sophomores (Frank Monge, Eric Pitts, Leon Hart, Carlos Johnson and Tim Bowman) will announce their schools of choice in the coming weeks.
- 2 Renegades named to All State teams
- Sophomore guard AJ Flournoy was named First Team All State by the California Community College Men’s Basketball Association
- Sophomore post Alpha N’Diaye was named Honorable Mention All State
- Renegades honored with post season awards - By a vote of the Coast Conference North Coaches, the following Ohlone players were named to the All Conference Team:
- AJ Flournoy, Most Valuable Player
- Alpha N’Diaye, 1st team All Conference
- James Hancock, 1st team All Conference
- Tim Bowman, Honorable Mention
- John Peterson, Coach of the Year

Flournoy’s 34 points he was 10 for 15 from the field including 4 of 6 from three and 10 for 15 from the free throw line. He added 9 rebounds and 5 assist. James Hancock had 14 points and 10 rebound and Alpha N’Diaye chipped in with 10 points. The win put Ohlone in a first place tie with San Francisco and Chabot at 1-0.
