Ohlone Ranked #2 in Preseason Coaches Poll

The Ohlone College Men’s Basketball team starts the 2008-2009 season as the #2 ranked team in the state (#1 in Northern California), according to the latest coaches poll.

The Renegades return 8 players from last year’s team that finished 20 -11 and lost by 2 in the Sweet 16.  Returning on the front line are sophomores Alpha N’Diaye (6’9, 215), James Hancock (6’6”, 230), Leon Hart (6’5”, 210) and Frank Monge (6’11”, 240).  At the guard spots, Ohlone returns sophomores Carlos Johnson (6’3, 190), Eric Pitts (6’2”, 205).  Point guards Tim Bowman (6’0, 200) and Matt Wittbrodt (5’11, 175) round out the returners.

Incoming freshmen include last year’s grey shirts, Simba Gwanyawanya, Jamaal Blalock and Quaran Johnson.  Additionally, the Renegades have added wings Isaiah Moore, Scott Clark, Ronnie Sawyer and Kevan West.  The final addition is sophomore transfer AJ Flournoy.
