Ohlone men's basketball got trounced, 77-55, against San Francisco City College on Wednesday, Feb. 4, but came right back in their game against Los Positas College that Saturday, Feb. 7.
"We just didn't play hard enough or smart enough," said Head Coach John Peterson for the Renegades, as the contest against CCSF resulted in a 77-55 loss. Ohlone, who was first in its conference prior to the game, is now tied atop the league with CCSF.
"We got outplayed by our mistakes, and our mistakes are what we need to go and work on," said Renegade center, Alpha N'Diaye, who scored 12 points.
At home, however, it was a different Renegade team that came to perform, as they beat Los Positas College for the second time this season, winning this game, 71-58. The game started off looking in favor for the Hawks as they took the lead by 4 points, and stayed consistent until Ohlone tied them before the half ended.
The second half was all Renegades. Ohlone dominated, with dazzling play by Kevan West, who brought the crowd to their feet with one dunk after another; and Alpha N'Diaye and A.J. Flournoy returned to the court after being sat in the first half, due to foul trouble.
"We came out to win tonight," said West, "and I just played my hardest (to get the win)."
