Fremont, Calif. - Energy and excitement electrified across gymnasiums at Ohlone and Chabot colleges as the teams made movements toward the post-season mayhem known as March Madness.

… Ohlone men's basketball beat Merritt College, 85-63, for the third time of the season, on Saturday, Feb. 28.

Head Coach John Peterson's Renegades put more pressure on Merritt than their East Bay rival could handle. Ohlone committed only nine turnovers in the contest and showed that they are ready to play hard-nosed basketball.

"It's hard to beat a team three times in the season," said Peterson. "It's great that we have home-court advantage."

Top scorers for Ohlone were Kevin West, 17, James Hancock, 19, and Alpha N'Diaye, 19, along with 17 boards.

The Renegades will have home-court advantage in their next game, as they will tip off against Reedley College on Saturday, March 7, at 7 p.m.
