- Honorable mention all league, averaged 6ppg and 4apg shot 54% from the field and 39% from three.

- League MVP, Northern California Player of the Year, averaged 15ppg, 5rpg shot 62% from the field and scored a season high of 33 vs. Foothill.
- Isaiah Moore – California Maritime Academy
- Averaged 8ppg and 4 rpg shot 53% from the field and had 26 points vs Siskiyous.

- Averaged 12ppg and 5rpg shot 70% from the free throw line and a season high of 26 points vs. Consumnes River.
Four Renegades moving to the next level

A long and winding road for Ohlone basketball
March 25, 2010, Ohlone College Monitor - Before the start of the season, Ohlone Head Coach John Peterson looked at his roster and noticed something significant. He was lacking in a lot of areas. … [A]t the Jonathan Wallace Memorial Tournament back in November, something happened. The team that was supposedly lacking lit up the scoreboard and took home the tournament title with ease. Former Renegade Tim Bowman Wins National Championship!
March 24, 2010 - 2009 Ohlone graduate Tim Bowman won the NAIA Division 1 Men’s Basketball National Championship last night, leading Oklahoma Baptist University to a thrilling 84-83 win over Azusa Pacific University. Tim finished with 10 points (including a huge 3 point basket with just over 2:30 to play) and 5 assists while playing 39 of the 40 minutes. He is believed to be just the second Ohlone student athlete to win a national championship at the 4 year level (former baseball star Scott Soulages won a NCAA D1 baseball championship with Cal State Fullerton in 2005-2006). Renegades stunned in Elite 8 by Saddleback
Heavy favorite Ohlone loses to eventual state champion
March 18, 2010, Ohlone College Monitor - Like the saying goes, "all good things must come to an end,” and unfortunately that was the story for the Ohlone Renegades. Renegades earn berth to compete for state title
March 11, 2010, Ohlone College Monitor - “We’re going to LA, we’re going to LA, we’re going to LA!” That was the chant rumbling through Epler Gymnasium on Saturday night after the Ohlone Renegades celebrated their Sweet 16 victory over the Yuba 49ers, 75-65. The win places the Renegades in to the Elite 8 of the 2010 California Community College Athletic Association Championships, which will take place this weekend down in Thousand Oaks. March 6, 2010 - A 12-2 run mid way through the second half propelled Ohlone to a 75-65 win over visiting Yuba College on Saturday night in front of a packed house at Epler Gymnasium. Reggie Jones scored 25 points and grabbed 6 rebounds, while Lavon Gray added 17 and 11 and guard Ronnie Sawyer had 14 and 5 to spark the Renegade attack. March 10, 2010, Tri-City Voice - Ohlone men, ranked number 1 in the state, advanced to the state championships for the second-consecutive season with its 75-65 win over the eighth-seeded Yuba 49ers on Ohlone's home floor. Men's Basketball Advances to Sweet 16!
March 3, 2010 - The Men’s Basketball team advanced to the Sweet 16 of the state tournament with a 75-60 win over Shasta College on Saturday night.
This Saturday’s game (March 6) will tip off at 7:00pm in Epler Gymnasium, with the #1 seeded Renegades (24-4) taking on the #8 seed Yuba College (25-4). Should be a great game and a huge crowd. Ticket prices are $10 general admission and $5 for faculty, staff, and seniors with current ID.

Junior college coach plays no games
March 2, 2010, Vacaville Insider - His first basketball meeting at Ohlone College did not go all too well for John Peterson. Three players walked out, refusing to play for a coach who wasted no time in letting it be known he was in charge. Four players were late to the meeting, and Peterson let them know “in no uncertain terms that was unacceptable. The culture had to change. Basketball teams win Regional Semifinal games and move on to Regional Finals
March 1, 2010 - Congratulations to Ohlone's Women's and Men's Basketball teams! Each won their Regional Semifinal Playoff game and move on to the Regional Finals. The Regional Final games are played on Saturday, March 6. The Women's team (#8) plays at City College of San Francisco (#1) at 5:30pm; the Men's team (#1) plays Yuba (#8) at 7:00pm at Ohlone's Fremont campus.

February 25, 2010, Ohlone College Monitor - Coming into this season, Ohlone Head Basketball Coach John Peterson had low expectations. He accepted the fact that his team was young and inexperienced and knew the postseason was outside of their reach. Now at the tail end of the year, Peterson and the Renegades (22-4, 11-1) are prepping themselves for a deep playoff push that begins this weekend. Men's Basketball ranked #1 in Northern California; Regional Semifinal Playoffs on Saturday
February 23, 2010 - The Men's Basketball team will follow on Saturday, February 27 at 7:00pm, also at home in the Epler Gymnasium on Ohlone's Fremont campus. The Men are ranked #1 in Northern California with an overall record of 24-4. As of yesterday, they were also ranked #1 in the State as indicated in the final regular season poll.
Because of their ultimate seeding, they will face off against the winner of the #16 Shasta College (11-14) and #17 West Valley College (14-14) game. This game is played at Shasta this Wednesday. This will also signify the soul possession of the Coast Conference championship.
Some of the notables on this team are Reggie Jones (see Inside Bay Area news article about Reggie Smith), who was named conference MVP and All State, Scott Clark and Lavon Gray were named All Conference and Quaran Johnson was named Honorable Mention All Conference.
Both games will be broadcasted live from our very own Ohlone TV station as a webcast. Once the link is identified, this page will be updated.

Renegades Get #1 Seed in the North; First Playoff Game Saturday Night
February 23, 2010 - The Ohlone College Men’s Basketball team (22-4, 11-1 conference) received the #1 seed in the Northern California bracket of the state tournament and will face the winner of Shasta College vs. West Valley College on Saturday night. Ohlone Beats City by 19, Clinches Share of Conference Title
February 15, 2010 - Reggie Jones scored 26 points, and Ohlone used a 25-3 scoring run to start the second half to beat City 76-57. The win gives the Renegades a 2 game lead with 2 to play, assuring at least a share of the conference title. This is the 5th conference championship since 2003 for Ohlone. February 13, 2010, Inside Bay Area - Reggie Jones poured in 26 points and the Renegades opened the second half with a 25-3 run as Ohlone took sole possession of first place with a big Coast Conference North win over the visiting Rams. February 12, 2010 - The men’s basketball team can clinch their second consecutive Conference Championship tomorrow with a win over San Francisco City College. Game time is 3 pm in Epler Gymnasium.
Ohlone is ranked #2 in the state, #1 in Norcal and has an overall record of 19-4, 8 -1 in league play. City is ranked # 5 in the state, #3 in Norcal, and has an overall record of 21- 3, 7-2 in league play. Ohlone won the first matchup in overtime at City, 67-66, with 2 free throws by Scott Clark with just 2.1 seconds remaining.

February 11, 2010, Ohlone College Monitor - On paper, it seemed like the Ohlone Renegades would just walk over lowly Cañada College on Saturday, Feb. 7. The Renegades came into their weekend match-up with the Colts ranked fourth in the state and owners of a 18-4 record. Ohlone holds off Canada, 66-60
February 8, 2010 - Canada College entered the game at Ohlone with just 1 league win and 9 overall, but certainly did not play like it Saturday night. The Colts made 12 3 point shots (12-31), were perfect from the line at 12-12, and held a 3 point lead with 5 to go, but ultimately the Renegades were too much inside as Reggie Jones scored 29 and had 7 rebounds and Lavon Gray had 7 points and 15 rebounds. Scott Clark (10 points, 2-3 from 3 pt line) and Quaran Johnson each had 6 assists. Ohlone (7-1, 18-4 overall) faces Skyline at Skyline this Wednesday, February 10 at 7:30pm and then are home Saturday, February 13 vs. San Francisco at 3:00pm.

February 2, 2010 - The game between Ohlone College and Canada College, to be played at Ohlone College on Saturday, February 6th has been changed to a 5:00pm tip off. The game was originally scheduled to start at 3:00pm. Tickets are $5 for general admission, kids 12 and under are free.
Ohlone College Knocks off Foothill to Regain Sole Possession of First Place
January 30, 2010 - Ohlone bounced back from its home loss to Chabot in a big way, knocking off Foothill College in Los Altos Hills to open the second half of league play. The Renegades and the Owls were tied atop the league standings at 5-1 going in to the contest. Paced by 6’9 sophomore Reggie Jones 33 points (14-20 from the field), Lavon Gray’s double double (10 points, 11 rebounds), and Demitris Love’s 6 assists, the Renegades pulled away late to win 72-65. Down 4 with just over 8 minutes left, Jones outscored Foothill 12-0 by himself, helping Ohlone build a 12 point lead that they would not relinquish. Ohlone (6-1) holds a 1 game advantage over Chabot, Foothill and SF City (5-2).

January 28, 2010 - Chabot’s 40 minutes of zone held Ohlone to its lowest point total of the season in a 64-53 win over the Renegades at Epler Gymnasium. Mark Stevenson led the Gladiators with 26 points, including two clutch 3’s in the last 2 minutes that sealed the fate of Ohlone. Quaran Jonson had 17 points and Reggie Jones had 11 for Ohlone. Ohlone shot just 39% from the field and 23% from the 3 point line (6-25).

January 26, 2010 - The Ohlone Renegades, ranked #1 in the state for the second time this season in today’s poll, face rival Chabot at 5:30pm in Epler Gymnasium on January 27, 2010. The Renegades are currently 16-3 overall and 5-0 in conference. This is the final game of the first half of league play. Chabot is 14-5 overall and 3-2 in league play. Tickets are $5 at the door general admission, and kids under 12 are free.
#2 Ohlone College wins again on the road, beating Las Positas College, 76-46
January 23, 2010 - The second ranked Renegades, paced by sophomore Scott Clark’s 17 points and 6 rebounds, upended the Hawks on the road. Demetris Love added 12 points and Lavon Gray chipped in 13, while point guards Quaran Johnson and Or Steiner had 6 assists each. Ohlone shot 51% from the field, and held LPC to just 14 points in the last 15 minutes of play. Nick Marshall led Las Positas with 15 points.
#2 Ohlone College Gets OT Road Win Over #3 San Francisco, 67-66
January 21, 2010 - 6’4 Sophomore guard Scott Clark swished 2 free throws with 2.8 seconds left in overtime to lead the ’Gades to a pivotal win on the road. Renegades Use Flawless 1st Half to Propel Win over Skyline College, 66 to 41.
January 17, 2010 - One turnover, 54 % from the field, 46% from the thre-point line, and only 13 points for the Trojans in the opening 20 minutes propelled the Renegades to a victory at home. Reggie Jones led the offensive attack with 13 points, and 11 players found their way into the scorebook. With 22 assists on the 25 made field goals, and a season low 4 turnovers, Ohlone improves to 3-0 on the season in league play and 14-3 overall. Coupled with CCSF’s loss at Foothill, Ohlone currently maintains sole possession of first place early in the season.

January 6, 2010, Tri-City Voice - The men's team had an extended reprieve following their win in the West Valley Tournament before Christmas, but showed no rust in an 80-71 nonleague road win over Consumnes River. Ronnie Sawyer led the Renegades with 26 points. Isaiah Moore scored 16, and Lavon Gray had 10 for Ohlone.
League play begins this week both the men's and women's teams. The men have started the season off in impressive fashion with an 11-3 record. The Renegades will have their work cut out for them in the Coast Conference North Division - 4 of the top 5 teams ranked in the North California coaches' poll are from that division. Ohlone is one of those ranked teams; the others are San Francisco City College, Chabot and Foothill.

Peterson begins tenth year on Ohlone's bench
October 29, 2009, Ohlone College Monitor - Aside from his impressive 201-81 win-loss record, John Peterson has excelled where other coaches have failed - job security. July 15, 2009 - Sophomore post Leon Hart (Hayward HS, Hayward, CA) signed a letter of intent with NAIA Division 1 Campbellsville University. Leon becomes the 9th player from the class of 2009 to receive a scholarship at the 4 year level.
July 15, 2009 - Ohlone Sophomore Frank Monge (San Juan, Puerto Rico) signed with California State University Stanislaus in Turlock, CA. The 6’11, 245 pound Monge Becomes the 10th player from Ohlone to sign this spring.
July 15, 2009 - PG Willis Gardner, a recent graduate of Colorado State University, has signed a professional contract to play in the Russian Superleague in the Fall. The team, Aviabasket UFA, competes in the first division of the Superleague, which is home to perennial Euroleague power CSKA Moscow. Gardner was a 2 year starter at Colorado State, and was an all state selection and conference MVP at Ohlone.
June 2, 2009 - Eric Pitts, the 6’2, 208 lb. combo guard out of Baltimore, MD, has committed to NCAA Division 2 Shaw University in Raleigh, NC. Pitts started over 30 games in his 2 year career, averaging nearly 8 points per game and 4 rebounds. He played a huge role in the Renegades winning their 4th league title since 2003. He was a great team leader and ferociously competitive, and he will be a difficult piece to replace. Shaw University is the oldest historically black university in the South.
June 2, 2009 - Mychal Green, a 2004 graduate of Ohlone College, was recently named the POW in the NBL, New Zealand’s professional pro league. Mychal was a 2 time All Conference player at Ohlone, was Conference MVP as a sophomore and made the All State team in 2004. Mychal averaged 25 points per game and shot over 50% from the field. After Ohlone, he spent 2 years at NCAA Division 1 Ohio University and helped lead them to the NCAA tournament as a junior, scoring 24 points in a first round loss to Florida. This is his second season with the Harbour Heat, who recently qualified for the playoffs.
May 22, 2009 - Sophomore PG Tim Bowman (Norristown HS, Norristown, PA) has signed a national letter of intent with perennial NAIA Division 1 power Oklahoma Baptist University. Bowman was the undisputed floor leader for the Renegades, averaging 9 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists per game. Best known for taking exceptional care of the ball and being one of the better on ball defenders in California, Tim helped lead Ohlone to a 46 – 19 record over his 2 years. OBU won 28 games last season and finished the year ranked 2nd in the country. They have made it to the Sweet 16 of the national tournament the last 8 years in a row.
May 22, 2009 - All nine of the 2008-2009 Ohlone College Sophomores are on track to receive their AA degrees by the end of the summer. The nine are Alpha Ndiaye, Eric Pitts, Frank Monge, Carlos Johnson, AJ Flournoy, Tim Bowman, Matt Wittbrodt. Leon Hart and James Hancock. Should all 9 complete the required courses, that would bring the total graduation rate for players who have remained in the program for a minimum of 2 years or have spent their sophomore year at Ohlone to 94%! 51 out of the 54 have completed all required work!
5 Sign National Letters of Intent
May 13, 2009 - Ohlone basketball coach John Peterson announced today that 5 players from the 2008-2009 Coast Conference Championship team have signed letters of intent and scholarship papers with 4-year schools.
- Sophomore Alpha N’diaye signed with CSU Sacramento (Division 1)
- Sophomore AJ Flournoy signed with NCAA Division 2 powerhouse Metropolitan State College of Denver
- Sophomore James Hancock signed with Point Loma Nazarene (NAIA Division 1)
- Sophomore Matt Wittbrodt signed with Northwood University in Michigan (NCAA D2), and
- Freshman guard Kevan West signed with NAIA D2 Concordia University in Portland
5 other sophomores (Frank Monge, Eric Pitts, Leon Hart, Carlos Johnson and Tim Bowman) will announce their schools of choice in the coming weeks.

May 13, 2009 - By a vote of the Coast Conference North Coaches, the following Ohlone players were named to the All Conference Team:
- AJ Flournoy, Most Valuable Player
- Alpha N’Diaye, 1st team All Conference
- James Hancock, 1st team All Conference
- Tim Bowman, Honorable Mention
- John Peterson, Coach of the Year
