The upwardly mobile Ohlone men's basketball team ascended to number 1 ranking in Northern California in the coaches poll with a thrilling 67-66 overtime win over City College of San Francisco on Wednesday (January 20), followed by a 76-46 rout of Las Positas on Saturday.

The Renegades knew they would have their hands full with a road game against number 3-ranked City College. It took two free throws from Scott Clark with 2.8 seconds remaining to ice the game for Ohlone, who trailed by as much as six points in the overtime period.

A 3-pointer by Cyleb Burton with just over a minute left cut the CCSF lead down to 64-63, and Lavon Gray's bucket with 30 seconds left gave Ohlone a one-point lead. Reggie Jones led Ohlone with 21 points. Clark scored 19, and Gray was a beast on the boards with 14 rebounds.

Against Las Positas, Clark led the way with 17 points and Gray had 13.

With the wins, the Renegades improved to 5-0 in the Coast Conference North and 16-3 overall.
