He was part of the Ohlone Men’s Soccer program for two years (00, 01) earning an AA in Liberal Arts, before transferring to CSU, Hayward (East Bay) to finish up his Athletic Career.  He received a Bachelor of Arts in English: Creative Writing through his pursuit of athletic participation in 2003.

Prior to Ohlone and CSU, East Bay, Marroquin played at Irvington High School in Fremont, earning two NCS championships in 1997 and 1998.

Marroquin began work with the Ohlone Women’s Soccer team program in 2003 as assistant coach under the direction of Head Coach Larry Heslin. After working with this program for a few years Marroquin decided to go back to East Bay and began work on his Master’s in English graduating in 2010. Marroquin is also an Adjunct English instructor at Ohlone. He is currently working on his Master’s in Kinesiology at Fresno Pacific University.

Marroquin takes over the Ohlone Men’s Soccer program that has struggled for a few years but is looking to infuse a new energy and change the culture of men’s soccer at Ohlone.

“Understanding the local community and having ties to MVAL high schools is essential to laying a foundation for the building of Men’s Soccer at Ohlone,” Marroquin said. “It is crucial to show local student-athletes that there are athletic and academic opportunities here at Ohlone and in this way attract the local talent.”
