Honors continue for Renegades men as Lee and Aghel are Invited to Sophomore Bowl!
December 3, 2008 - Ohlone Co-Captain and starting center back Patrick Lee (Fremont, CA Mission San Jose High) as well as sophomore Goalkeeper Iman Aghel (Mashad, Iran Allamah High School) were invited to the sophomore bowl as part of the college showcase weekend. The sophomore bowl will be held at 11am on Saturday December 6th and honors the top sophomores from the state by showcasing their talents in a north vs. south match. There will be dozens of four year college coaches in attendance as the event also serves as a precursor to Sunday’s state final championship matches. Lee and Aghel Help Ohlone End Season Strong
November 14, 2008 - Ohlone men’s traveled to San Bruno Friday to take on the perennial playoff contender Skyline Trojans and battled to a 1 – 1 draw. Read more Lee and Aghel Help Ohlone End Season Strong.
Aghel Saves the Day to Earn Renegades another Point
November 11, 2008 - Gavilan College traveled to Ohlone to take on the Renegades and after 90 minutes the match ended in a nil – nil draw. Zermino Honored as One of the State’s Best
November 11, 2008 - During the month of October, Zermino was moved up to striker, and scored 4 goals and chipped in with 3 assists to help Ohlone win 3 of their last 4 matches after a 0-14 start. For his accomplishments, Ohlone Renegade Freshman and Striker Daniel Zermino was honored by the California Community College Athletic Association with an honorable mention for the Athlete of the Month for November 2008. Renegades fall to #15 in the Nation Evergreen Valley
November 7, 2008 - Ohlone men’s traveled to Evergreen Valley College to battle the nationally ranked Eagles and fell 6 – 2. In a fashion all too typical this season the Renegades fell behind the Eagles going down 4 – 0 at the half. However, also typical of Ohlone the Renegades refused to give up scoring 2 in the second half and matching the Eagles shot for shot, blow for blow and nearly scoring 2 more. Galloway, Aghel and Lee Lead the Way to Win
November 4, 2008 - The Las Positas Hawks came looking for revenge for the 2 – 0 loss to Ohlone last Thursday but again came out on the losing end of things to the Renegades. Renegades win another in best outing yet!
October 30, 2008 - The Renegade men traveled to Livermore to play Las Positas Thursday for a rain soaked match and walked away the victors with a 2 – nil win. The match was makeup vs. the Hawks, as the first scheduled outing was postponed due to a power outage earlier in the season. Daniel Zermino (Union City Ca, James Logan High) again provided the offensive fireworks for Ohlone assisting Daniel Galloway (Fremont, CA Irvington High School) who picked up his first career game winning goal in the 62nd minute. Ohlone Men's soccer achieve state honor and team success
October 29, 2008, Tri-City Voice - Partick Lee has been one of the bright spots for the Renegades soccer team of Ohlone College (1-14-0); and he was recognized by the California Community College Athletic Commission (CCCAC) as an honorable mention All-State athlete for the month of October. Ohlone Men Finally Break Through With Win
October 24, 2008 - Ohlone men’s traveled to Santa Clara Friday to take on the Mission College Saints. The Renegades won 3 – 0 with (Daniel Zermino (Union City Ca, James Logan High) scoring his first career game winning goal in the 40th minute. Zermino hit his shot from 18 out into the lower left hand corner from a ball played into him by Adam Hernandez (Fremont, CA Kennedy High) who earned his 3rd point of the season with the assist. Ohlone Men’s Soccer Just Won’t Quit!
October 10, 2008 - Why won’t a struggling team that has failed to win a game yet this year just lay down and quit? The short answer is pride and persistence. Ohlone Men Find Silver Lining
September 30, 2008 - Ohlone men’s traveled to City College of San Francisco to battle the defending conference champions and currently undefeated Rams. The Ohlone lost 4 – 0 but Renegades co-captain Sean Powers (Newark, CA Newark Memorial High) was able to find the silver lining in the dark cloud of the loss. Read more Ohlone Men Find Silver Lining.
Team Spirit High with Renegades Men
September 26, 2008 - The Renegades hosted visiting West Valley Vikings on Friday for their opening conference match. Ohlone who has been struggling with injuries since day 1 had two key players unavailable for the match, team captain and center back Sean Powers as well as left back Sammy Haidari. Ohlone Men’s Soccer Improves vs Cañada
August 29, 2008 - Ohlone men’s traveled to Cañada College to take on the Colts and made an improvement on last year’s results. Last season Ohlone lost to the Colts 6-1 and 10-1. Ohlone Men’s Soccer Prepare for season opener
August 22, 2008 - Ohlone men’s soccer first year men’s soccer coach Don Williams announced that 2008 roster has been finalized. Ohlone opens the season on Wednesday, August 27th against visiting Fresno City College for a 4pm kickoff and follows that match up with by traveling to Cañada College to take on the Colts for a 2pm start on Friday August 29th.
