Match Report: Ohlone loses to Evergreen 3-0

  • Game Day: Friday, October 2, 2009
  • Ohlone of Coast South Division, Conference Match
  • Evergreen @ Ohlone
  • Evergreen 3, Ohlone 0

Evergreen and Ohlone played to a 0-0 tie for the first 45 minutes, while Ohlone outshot Evergreen 7-3.

To start the second half, Evergreen did not waste any time getting on the scoreboard, by coming down their left side beating the outside back, and crossing a ball to the top of the six where Jose Ramirez was there for the tap in with in the first minute of the second half.

Ohlone tried to come back several times, with 7 corners, and several of their trademark throw ins, but goalkeeper, Jonathan Arellano, played extremely well keeping the Renegades at bay. Evergreen got on the score board again in the 71st minute, with a breakaway switched from left to right, and landing on the feet of Alejandro Duarte, who took little time to bring it down and get the ball in the box to finish on goalkeeper Iman.

Two minutes later Evergreen finished the job on the Renegades, with a great left foot shot curving around a crowd of players while in the run of play by Leo Baltazar. That capped the scoring and finished out the win streak that Ohlone had. It was a hard fought battle, and the depleted Renegades did not suffer any more injuries as they have had in the past few games.
