An injury-depleted Ohlone soccer team traveled to Livermore to play the Las Positas Red-Tail Hawks on a windy Tuesday evening, Oct. 6. The fast track of the artificial-turf surface, combined with the questionable physical tactics of the Las Positas team, was enough to send the Renegades back to Fremont with a 2-0 loss. The defeat was the second straight for Ohlone, who before that had won four in a row.
Cedric Kenfack scored the first goal of the match in the fifth minute, beating Ohlone goalkeeper Iman Aghel one-on-one after receiving a pass from teammate Felix Luna.
Ohlone Head Coach Jan Nordmo felt that his team was victimized by several non-calls of what he termed "abusive challenges" by the Hawks, who've tailored their more fast-moving style of play to suit their home field's turf surface.
The Renegades had several opportunities to equalize but couldn't score the tying goal. Las Positas added insurance in the 77th minute on a goal by Luis Rocha.
Ohlone's record dropped to 6-4 (2-2 conference) with the loss.
