Ohlone advances in playoffs Roundup

Fremont—The Ohlone College softball team beat College of the Sequoias 3-2 to take the first-round series in the regional playoffs on Sunday afternoon.

The No.6-seeded Renegades (35-9-1) will face No.3 Sierra (35-8) at 2 p.m. Saturday in another best-of-3 series in Rocklin.

In Sunday's win, Ohlone sophomore right-hander Isabel Ramos, out of American High, tossed a five-hitter. It was Ramos' second straight complete game, upping her season record to 18-4.

Ramos allowed two earned runs, four walks and struck out one.

Ohlone's Valerie Briones went 1-for-3 and scored a run. Teammate Kassandra Winger also went 1-for-3, and Raquel Torres went 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Danielle Yee went 1-for-2.
