SJC ends Ohlone's season

SAN JOSE—The season ended for the Ohlone College softball team Sunday afternoon.
In the super regionals, the No.6-seeded Renegades suffered a 3-2 loss at No.4 San Jose City on Sunday.
"We reached a lot of our team goals this year and—shoot—we just fell short by a couple of runs," Ohlone coach Donna Runyon said.
Ohlone (36-11) opened the best-of-3 series Saturday with a 7-6 loss to SJC, which is ranked No.5 in the state.
In Sunday, the Renegades scored in the first when Cassandra Orteaga was walked in with the bases loaded.
SJC (42-6) tied the game in the second and took a 2-1 in the fourth. The Jaguars took a 3-1 lead in the sixth with a home run from Jessica Allemanno.
SJC advances to the state final eight this weekend in Chino Hills.
Ohlone's Danielle Yee went 2-for-4, and Isabel Ramos went 1-for-1.
