2007 Women's Softball Season Summary - Ohlone College Renegades Women's Softball
Lady Renegades move on after a great 2007 softball season, Tri-City Voice, May 29, 2007 - "For the Lady Renegades Softball Team it was a year of amazing victories and gut-wrenching losses. There were also a number of blow-out wins by eight runs or more, but no losses of more than five runs. Only twice all year did a team score more than six runs in a game against Ohlone."
Ohlone women let one get away: Game one and Season's End, Tri-City Voice, May 15, 2007 - "Ohlone Lady Renegades traveled to San Jose May 12 - 13 to take on the San Jose City College Jaguars in the second round of the 2007 California Community College State Softball Championship Tournament. NorCal number five seed Ohlone and number four seed SJC would play a best two out of three games to determine which team advances to the state finals May18-20 at Big League Dreams in SoCal's Chino Hills."
SJC ends Ohlone's season, Inside Bay Area, May 13, 2007 - 'The season ended for the Ohlone College softball team Sunday afternoon. … "We reached a lot of our team goals this year and—shoot—we just fell short by a couple of runs," Ohlone coach Donna Runyon said.'
Ohlone loses in bottom of 7th Saturday afternoon, Inside Bay Area, May 13, 2007 - "The No. 6-seeded Renegades had a 6-4 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh inning but suffered a 7-6 loss to host No. 4-seeded San Jose City College in the Super Regionals of the Northern California playoffs."
Softball SUPER Regionals
May 7, 2007 from Coach Donna Runyon - The softball team won two games last weekend against College of Sequoias-Saturday, 1-0 and Sunday, 3-2 in the 1st round of Regional Softball Playoffs.
Both games were come from behind or tie. The women scored in the bottom of the 7th in the first game to win it and Sunday scored all three runs in the bottom of the 6th. The score was 2-0 COS until the bottom of the 6th.
Thanks to everyone who came out and supported this great accomplishment!
NEXT weekend, May 12 and 13, we will travel to San Jose City College for the next round of play. San Jose is the 4th seeded team and Ohlone is #5. Game time Saturday is 2:00pm and Sunday is 12:00pm and the "if" game is at 2:00pm. The winner will advance to the FINAL 8 in the STATE and play in Chino Hills for the State Championship.
San Jose City College is about 30 minutes from Fremont and we would love to see your support on May 12 and 13! Wish us luck and GO RENEGADES!

First Round of Regionals is at HOME!
April 30, 2007 - The Ohlone Softball Team has just won its Fifth Consecutive Coast Conference Title in a row and are on the road to playoffs! The softball team is seeded Sixth in the North and will play a HOME Regional "Best Two out of Three" Series this weekend (May 5-6) here at the Ohlone Softball Diamond.
- Saturday's game will be at 2:00pm - We will host College of the Sequoias, the 11th seed
- Sunday's games will start at 12:00pm (noon) and the "if" game will be at 2:00pm.
Since this is playoffs, there will be an admission charge: $5 for general admission; $3 for students, faculty and staff, seniors and children.

Ohlone pulls out win in last of 7th

The Ohlone College Softball Team is tied for FIRST PLACE (with San Mateo) in the Coast Conference! On Tuesday, April 17, we will play a Home Game vs. College of San Mateo. The game starts at 3:00pm and admission is FREE. The Ohlone softball field is located between parking lots K and D near Campus Security (Building 20).
Our record is 32-8 overall and 17-3 in league play. I am asking for your support in this HUGE game. We are currently ranked 5th in Northern California and the women would love a big crowd to support their efforts.

Softball version of March Madness coming to Fremont, Tri-City Voice, March 6, 2007 - "March Madness, Fremont-style, is coming to Central Park, Saturday and Sunday, March 10 and 11 on fields 3, 4, 5, and 6. This version of March Madness is in the form of women's softball. Sixteen teams from community colleges across Northern and Central California will participate with each team playing three games on Saturday, then one to three more games on Sunday.
