Fremont, CA—Donna Runyon, Ohlone College women’s softball coach, will receive a well deserved 700th win Victory Club Milestone Award. This prestigious award is being presented by Easton Sports this December in Marco Island, Florida at the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Convention. The event celebrates Division I, II III, NAIA, Junior College and High School coaches who have received milestone wins in their careers.

Last season, during a game against De Anza College in April 2008, the Ohlone Women’s softball team gave Coach Runyon her 700th career win. Runyon has been coaching at Ohlone for 21 years. During her tenure the Lady Renegades have taken the Coast Conference Title a total of ten years, including the past six years in a row. Runyon was named Coast Conference Coach of the Year last year and at least six times before this. Three years ago Coach Runyon celebrated her 600th win and since 2002 Runyon's teams have won at least 30 games per year.

Donna Runyon began her junior college coaching career in 1980, at Cypress College in Southern California, where she coached 6 years with a 132-76 win/loss record. She then went to coach at San Francisco City College for a year, and finally at Ohlone College where she currently coaches. Their record last year was 41-9 overall and a perfect 24-0 in league. The only other 40-win season was in 1990 when the team was 42-11. They have qualified for Post Season play 17/20 years.
